Hi, I'm
Coach Tanya

Hello, my name is Tanya, and I am proud to be part of the MTClife team. We deliver active and engaging classes and workshops to children, where we focus on a variety of different skills (depending on the program), such as motor skill development, basic fundamental skills, physical fitness, confidence building, soft skill development, and more!
The MTClife programs are based on an old African proverb which states:

If someone hears, they will forget.
If someone writes, they will remember.
However, if someone does, they will understand.

This style of teaching uses music, dance, game, and play as a tool to connect with participants. Children instinctively move their bodies as a means of communication. The significant portion of these classes or workshops is the movement platform which can be either pre-existing models or in-house programs MTClife has developed.

I teach Wee Wigglers and Cadence, which are two programs offered by MTClife.

ABOUT
Tanya Belanger
I've always loved working with young children, and I knew early on that I wanted to teach. I pursued my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher, and graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Elem.) in 1997 from McGill University, Quebec, where I grew up. With a couple years of teaching experience under my belt, I ventured out to Vancouver, BC for a few years where I had the opportunity to teach French Immersion in Kindergarten and Grade 1. Family then brought me to St-Catharines in 2002, where I continued to work in the teaching profession, and gained some experience working with adults as well as preschool age children.

Then, in 2012, after my husband and I had our two beautiful children, I discovered Wee Wigglers! I completed my training to become a Wee Wigglers Children’s Fitness Coach and I've been having so much fun teaching this program to hundreds of 'wee' ones ever since!
In June, 2017, I completed my Cadence & MTClife training as a Coach and I couldn't be more excited to bring this program, in addition to Wee Wigglers, to families and schools in the Niagara region!

Living a healthy lifestyle, staying fit and working with young children are all very important to me, and I'm lucky that they all tie in so well with what I love to do....having a blast teaching the MTClife programs and making a small, positive difference in the lives of children and families in my community!

Here's what parents shared about their experience with the MTClife programs....
“My children have been attending Wee Wigglers classes with Tanya for about 7 years now. We recently enrolled in her new Cadence program, and were very pleased to have the same fun, energetic, knowledge-filled experience we are always used to. My 5 year old looked forward to Miss. Tanya's songs and activities every week. The Cadence program helped encourage my child to be who she is and to be kind, honest and supportive to everyone around her. We would recommend the Cadence program, or any of Tanya's programs, to anyone interested in a unique music and movement class for their children.”

"My daughter loved attending Tanya’s Wee Wigglers groups and was heartbroken when she grew too old for them. I have never seen her more excited to attend the same kind of classes, but for older kids, with Cadence! This is the best experience she’s had all summer, to say the least! We will definitely be joining again." :)
